Poing, Munich -- OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has selected European semiconductor distribution specialist EBV Elektronik, an Avnet (NYSE:AVT) company is their "No.1 European Distributor 2008".
"We are very proud to be receiving this award for the fifth time in succession as the top-selling partner in OSRAM Opto Semiconductors for the European distribution network," said Slobodan Puljarevic, president and CEO of EBV Elektronik.
"LED technology is an important growth market for EBV. Despite declining sales in the semiconductor industry, the global LED market grew by almost 11% in 2008. Market researchers from iSuppli expect an increase of 2.9% in 2009 and in 2010 the growth rate is expected to rise again to 11.1%.
