Doing business the right way
We believe that maintaining a high level of employee engagement is the key ingredient for responsible business. By focusing on people development, operational excellence and profitable growth, we're able to realize our vision of being a premier, trusted business partner and delivering the highest value to our customers, suppliers and shareholders.
Rooted in our people
A culture of engaged employees is our highest priority and supports our core values of integrity, customer service, accountability, teamwork and innovation. Integrity is our number one core value by design. It comes first and guides our day-to-day decisions wherever we do business. Avnet's Ethics and Compliance program helps protect our culture and reputation by providing resources that help employees make ethical decisions at work. The program develops and distributes awareness materials including the Code of Conduct; provides legal compliance and ethics training; investigates reports of misconduct; and manages the Ethics Alertline available 24/7 to employees, vendors, suppliers, customers and other third parties worldwide to report compliance and ethics related concerns.
A pledge of transparency
Ethical conduct begins with transparency in our policies, procedures and transactions. We reinforce this commitment through ongoing training and a thorough audit process. Avnet was recognized by the Ethisphere® Institute as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Read more.

Ethics and transparency
We see trust as the essential element that links everything in our company. We emphasize a comprehensive governance system that impacts all of our procedures and transactions—with ongoing training and audits to help ensure success.
With more than 100,000 customers in more than 80 countries, we embed standards within our business structure to remain the leading distributor of electronic components, enterprise IT solutions, computer products and embedded technology. We approach our overall corporate social responsibility and sustainability efforts seriously. It's simply the right thing to do.
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission rules require certain companies to disclose the extent to which the products they manufacture or contract to manufacture contain so-called conflict minerals sourced from mines in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or adjoining countries. Conflict minerals include tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold, which are used in many electronic components and computer products.
As a global value-added distributor of electronic components, enterprise computer and storage products, IT solutions and services, and embedded subsystems, Avnet promotes the traceability of these minerals and the transparency of the supply chain. Avnet firmly believes that its customers should be fully informed about the products they purchase. While Avnet, as a distributor, is not able to certify as to the country of origin of the minerals contained in the products manufactured by Avnet's suppliers, Avnet is committed to working with its customers to supply products that meet the customer's specifications.
With respect to those limited aspects of Avnet's business that manufacture or contract to manufacture products that contain conflict minerals that are necessary to the functionality or production of the product, Avnet does not directly purchase any conflict minerals from any source and endeavors not to purchase products that contain conflict minerals that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in the DRC or adjoining countries. Avnet expects its suppliers to these aspects of its business to only source minerals from responsible sources and provide Avnet with proper verification of the country of origin and source of the materials used in the products they supply to it. Avnet fully understands the importance of this issue to its customers and is committed to supply chain initiatives and overall corporate social responsibility and sustainability efforts that work towards a conflict-free supply chain. Avnet is encouraging all of its suppliers to likewise support these efforts and make information on the origin of their product components easily accessible on their websites.
